Are Business Class Flights Set to Become More Luxurious in 2023?

Last summer finally brought back travel again, in a big way. People were excited to get on the planes again and catch up on the experiences they dearly missed during the pandemic. Airlines were more than happy to cater to a travel-hungry crowd by bringing in innovations ranging from comfort-enhancing features to privacy-focused qualities. Let’s have a quick look at some of the most interesting developments that first and business class passengers can enjoy now!

More Privacy Doors, Please

While not exclusively a new feature, privacy doors have started becoming more commonplace in first and business class flights over the course of last year. Qatar Airways started this trend a few years back and it was just a matter of time before competition followed suit.

In fact, most airlines now have some form of privacy doors on their new first and business class seats and just about every single airline considers this a requirement as part of the new orders or redesigns of the luxury cabins. This is a feature to watch over the course of this year as more airlines roll out their new business class cabins.

Wireless Bluetooth…Coming to a Seat near You

We have all tried various headphones provided by the airlines, and they almost always fail to disappoint. These headphones are rarely that comfortable and the sound quality is just not what we are used to with our preferred brand.

Last year finally Bluetooth became much more common across long distance business and first class flights, allowing the customers to enjoy their in-flight entertainment wirelessly by pairing their beloved headphones to their seat. This also entirely eliminates the risk of tripping up in wires when standing up (admittedly a low risk to begin with, but much more comfortable nonetheless!).

It is worth mentioning that not every airline offers this perk yet. Virgin Atlantic was the first to offer this luxury on their Airbus A330-0900neo aircraft last year. But at CEOFlights we are hearing that wireless Bluetooth connectivity will become much more commonplace over the course of 2023. Stay tuned!

Make Lounges Exclusive Again

As airlines tried to look for ways to generate additional revenue dollars, lounge access suddenly was no longer just the privilege of those flying first or business class or even the lucky ones who had reached a certain status on various mileage programs. Many credit card holders started crowding the lounges, and this became really apparent in the summer of 2022.

As the air travel was getting back to full swing, airlines realized that way too many people have access to the lounge areas and the experience for the business and first class customers is no longer up to the required standard. As a result, airlines have either limited the access or created separate areas where entry is reserved just for first and business class ticket holders. So you can look forward to a perhaps even more glamorous airline lounge experience in 2023!

While we at CEOFlights cannot guarantee that your chosen airline and route will feature all of the above luxuries, we can guarantee that you will get the best deal from us, wherever in the world travel takes you!
