Best European Business Class Airlines (Part II)
In the previous article, we started reviewing the best European business class airlines and their offerings to business class customers, including, but not limited to cabin experience, fast-track check-in process, and airport lounge facilities – just to name a few perks available exclusively to business class passengers.
Now it is time to continue this series and have a look at additional European business class airlines that offer superb business class experience. These airlines can take you to Europe and back, and pretty much anywhere else in the world! They are also part of various global mileage programs so you will earn miles along the way. Without further ado, let’s just dive right in!

Swiss International Airlines (or simply Swiss) is again one of those European airlines that is sophisticated, measured, reliable, but not overly flashy – maybe this is why it has earned quite a following and many of our customers prefer to fly Swiss over many other airlines. The cuisine on board is inspired by local traditions, cabins are well-designed and soothing, and service never disappoints. If you fly Swiss, chances are you will be transiting through their Zurich hub, which offers recently refurbished lounge facilities to business class customers and Star Alliance Gold members. Once you are done with the smooth priority check-in and fast-track security lanes, this is exactly where you should immediately head to! The lounge is located in the E terminal and is conveniently split into two sections: the business class lounge and Senator level section. An impressive buffet is on offer and also an exhibition kitchen is on display (which is a rather unique feature of this Swiss lounge). Open bar and unlimited amounts of the world-famous Swiss Mövenpick ice cream (and, of course, Swiss chocolate) await the business class fliers. Daybeds and workstations are available so you can either just relax before take-off or finish some of the work emails you have been intending to catch up on for some time. While at the lounge, do not forget to enjoy the world-famous panoramic airport views from the al fresco terrace.
With distinct wood accents throughout, the business class cabin at Swiss is a true lap of luxury. The seats are very roomy and easily convert into over 6.5 feet long completely flat beds. If you fly on the Airbus A330-300, the seats will also have a message function to provide a further relaxing experience. In addition, all seats also have a built-in USB connection port. You will experience an authentic restaurant ambiance as the meal will be served course by course and it will be a true fine dining experience over a period of 2-3 hours.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines

KLM Royal Dutch (or simply KLM) is the flagship Dutch carrier and a source of immense national pride in the Netherlands. KLM’s international network is very impressive and the airline is an integral part of the SkyTeam, which ensures you will earn the valuable miles along the way. On long-haul flights, the business class cabin is branded World Business Class, and it certainly lives up to the expectations!
As a KLM business class customer, you will transfer through the Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, which includes amenities such as fine dining, almost endless shopping options and even art galleries. Once you are through the security, the business class lounge is enormous and spans two floors with multiple dining areas, venues serving adult beverages (otherwise simply known as bars), napping rooms and even shower facilities to freshen up before your long-haul flight. There is also a balcony where you can enjoy the views and do some plane spotting (if that’s your thing).
You will be pleased to hear that all World Business Class cabins feature flat-bed seats, but the layout does vary, based on the aircraft operating on your route. The cabin is very pleasant, measured in style that includes nice touches such as crown logo pattern in your seat and carpeting fabrics that deliver a welcoming, home-like feel (after all, this will be your home for the next few, or even more, hours!). The interior color pattern consists of soothing blue, brown and grey tones. During your flight you will enjoy a fine 3 meal course curated by top chefs, with a choice of sommelier hand-picked wines and finely aged liquors. Every seat has a USB connection port and features a 16-18 inch screen for your in-flight entertainment system. If you prefer to just recline your flat-bed seat and sleep during the flight, you will appreciate the noise-cancelling headset provided by KLM.
